What do I need to do if I want to have fireworks at my location?
It’s simple! Use the online submission form to make us aware of your interest. For both indoor and outdoor fireworks, the biggest determining factor is the location. Federal, State, and Local regulations determine if an area is suitable for a fireworks display. And what type and/or size of fireworks can be used. If you have an idea for where you’d like to have a fireworks show, include the address and potential date or date range in your submission. That will give us a starting point when we reply to you.
How much does it cost? What do I get for dollars?
Much like the fireworks themselves, “The sky’s the limit!” Every show is custom made for you and your budget. No show is exactly the same. What you will get for any dollar amount is an awesome show that your audience is going to love!
Can I help with the show?
Unless you are licensed for fireworks by the State of Ohio, it’s best to presume the answer is “No”. However, there are certain circumstances which may allow for some involvement. That can be discussed as the event draws nearer.
How do I get involved with professional fireworks?
There are a variety of ways to start your journey, such as attending a “Shooters Course” that is offered yearly by American Fireworks (AmericanFireworks.com), based in Hudson, Ohio. There is an international group known as PGI (pgi.org) that offers everything from spectating all the way up to manufacturing.
How much notice do I need to give you if I want a show?
“As much as possible” is always the best answer. There is a lot of prep work that takes place long before the first firework is ignited. An absolute minimum consideration should be 1 month prior to the proposed date. 2-3 months is ideal. If you want a show on the 4th of July, those shows typically get booked a full year in advance.
What happens if it rains?...if the weather is bad?
Occasionally Mother Nature has her own plans. However, often the only thing that will prevent a show from happening is high winds, lightning, or torrential downpours. While it may not be as much fun for your audience and contrary to what you may think, rain, snow, or any other general precipitation have little-to-no impact on professional fireworks.
Who provides the insurance? How does the insurance work if there's an accident?
As required by Federal and Local laws, Phoenix Pyrotechnics, LLC is fully insured. Any actions that take place up to and after any incident are addressed at that time with the local authorities. It is worth noting that we have a perfect safety record and pride ourselves on making safety our absolute #1 priority.
Will the local fire department be present?
This depends on the type of show. Very rarely is there a police presence for the explicit purpose of a fireworks display. Larger shows, as regulated by Federal and Local laws, will typically have some presence from the local Fire Department. These types of communications and coordination are handled by Phoenix Pyrotechnics, LLC as part of our standard operating agreement.
